What we offer

Traineeships

On-Stage offers traineeships in all kinds of areas, such as Education, Biology, Tourism, Archaeology, Hotel Industry, Social Paediatrics, Facility Management and Marine Biology. If you are interested and want to know some of your possibilities, you can contact On-Stage at onstagenicaragua@gmail.com.

On arrival

On-Stage will meet you at the airport when you arrive and take you to where you are staying. You will also be provided with an information pack containing useful information about Nicaragua.

Supervision and support

On-Stage will supervise you during your first day as a trainee. This is to help you get acquainted with the area, introduce you to your traineeship manager on site and to help you understand what is expected from you.

Housing

On-Stage will take care of your housing arrangements. We manage a student houses and can also arrange alternative housing such as a stay in a hostel or with a Nicaraguan family. Obviously you are also free to make any arrangements yourself but please be aware of the difficulties that many foreign visitors experience trying to find suitable, safe and affordable housing.

Spanish lessons

Should your understanding of the Spanish language not meet the required standard of your chosen traineeship, it will be necessary we do a course. You will have to do this before you actually start your traineeship. On-Stage offers special programmes, varying from a 1- to a 4-week course. On average you will have 4 hours of lesson each day. In the afternoon (4 times a week) there is usually an activity which encourages you to use what you have learnt as well as learn more about the Nicaraguan way of life. After thoroughly investigating the local institutes that offer language courses, On-Stage is now working closely with a good quality Spanish school in Granada. We would advise you to stay with a host family whilst studying Spanish, as this encourages you to learn and improve your Spanish skills even faster.

Peace of mind

Nicaragua is not just any country. Although it is the safest country in Central America, there are always things to bear in mind. The simple fact that you are away from home makes things different. What should you do in case you get sick? Who do you turn to in case of an emergency? What do you do if you need to contact your family or friends urgently? The people of On-stage are there to help you with these types of situations. We live in Nicaragua, are Dutch, we speak English as well as Spanish, we know our way around Nicaragua and you can reach us 24 hours a day! Also for those who stay behind.

We trust that all those who come to Nicaragua do so with all the best intentions. Unfortunately, sometimes it happens that a student find al this freedom and responsibility a little much to handle. Sometimes, luckily rarely, they can even pose a threat to themselves, their surroundings, and even On-Stage. In that case we will abort your traineeship. We consider this as some peace of mind for you and your family and loved ones!
